Annie McDougall – Science Researcher, PhD student

Attended Elwood College 1998 – 2003

“The most important lesson I was taught at Elwood (College) was how to be an independent learner, a lesson that has carried me through my undergraduate course and through to the highest level of post-graduate studies”.

After graduating from Elwood College Annie McDougall completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) at Monash University, majoring in Physiology and Genetics. Annie is currently completing her PhD in the Foetal and Neonatal Research Group in the Department of Physiology at Monash University which is one of the largest centres for fetal and neonatal research in the world. Annie is investigating the molecular pathways involved in foetal lung growth with her studies focusing on identifying the genes that regulate lung development.
