Legal Studies Parliament and Courts Excursion

On the 6th of November, the Year 11 Legal Studies class had the opportunity to visit the County Court and the Parliament of Victoria to gain insight into the institutions and systems of government and justice, as well as develop a deeper understanding of how laws are made and the structure of parliament.

First the students visited the County Court, where they were able to have an informal conversation with a sitting judge, and observe a trial.

In the afternoon, the class toured Parliament House, and took part in a role play in the Legislative Assembly, playing roles such as Speaker, ministers and traditional ceremonial positions.
