The main role of the Parents of Elwood College group is to connect the parents/carers within the school community.  The group assists to facilitate various school events throughout the year, including the school production, student talent night and parent get togethers, as well as fund raising at the regular monthly Elwood Farmers Market held at the college.

For this year’s VCE Theatre Studies Production, over two nights, the students put on a show of two plays by actor and writer Steve Martin. The audiences were wowed by the standard of the performance and hilarious delivery of Martin’s witty humour – the Phoenix Theatre was almost constantly filled with laughter. A group of Year 9 students also stepped up to help out the VCE class, as part of the backstage crew and stage management.

On the 22nd of May, Elwood College held a Biggest Morning Tea Cake Competition to raise funds for the Cancer Council, producing a diverse array of creative cakes.

This year’s International Student Camp saw our students flying over the Bass Strait to Tasmania. Year 10 student Richard Kullman reports on the trip.

This year, Year 11 students have been giving back to our local community by volunteering as part of the Community Service-Based Learning program.
