As always, the House colours fashion parade was a highlight of the swimming carnival!

We had a fantastic day at the House Swimming Carnival on Thursday, 19 February. Byron came out the overall winner with 747 points, followed closely by Milton (741), Lawson (695) and Keats (655). Well done to all the students who participated.

Special congratulations to the age group champions:

13yo: Freya Hopkins and Jordie Gray

For the second year running, our superfish teachers proved too fast in the staff vs students relay. Emma Robbins, Virginia Moloney, Sebastian Barr and new science/food tech teacher Tim Purcell made a formidable team, giving next year’s senior swimmers some great incentive to get training!

English teacher Miss B-C (Ella Broughton-Cunningham) asked her 7C class to report on their first day of high school. Here is a selection of their comments:

Layla B “This morning I was nervous and excited but I feel quite comfortable being at another school. I’m looking forward to learning new subjects and getting to know everyone.”

Macoy “Now I feel more confident at Elwood. I am looking forward to next week and the next six years at Elwood.”

From rocket making to origami, students can look forward to fun, practical learning with our new physics and maths teacher Joe Liu.
