Year 7 is dedicated to helping students feel safe, happy and engaged at Elwood, giving them the best start for their exciting journey through secondary school. Growing Futures is our two year program, covering year 7 and 8, that seeks to enhance these goals.
We encourage our students to develop as individuals, building confidence in the classroom while exploring their talents with co-curricular activities. With a team of dedicated Junior School teachers, our year 8 program consolidates our two year Growing Futures program. Students work to apply their transferrable skills, develop their capacity to work collaboratively and independently, whilst focussing on growth and understanding.
Personalised learning gives every student a pathway to strive for excellence and enjoy learning success, with extension and support opportunities provided in every subject.
Acceleration can include more challenging classwork, academic forums and competitions, or leadership roles that harness particular talents. Where appropriate, students can also step up to senior classes for specific subjects.
