Taylor was also Elwood College co-captain in 2015.
As cliché as it sounds, my ATAR result was more than I had ever hoped for. When the text came through seven minutes early, the surprise-attack took me a little while to process. After re-reading several times, and triple checking that I had indeed received the right message, I promptly woke up the entire house. It was absolutely overwhelming to know that the year’s hard work had paid off. I was ecstatic to tell all my family, friends and teachers, who had helped keep me sane for the past 11 months.
With my score I was accepted into my course of Global Studies at Monash University, which I’m excited about starting. From there I’m considering moving into a law degree and looking at possible careers in international law and international relations, but time will tell. For now, I’m focusing on earning some money and travelling around Europe with my friends at the end of the year.
The support of my teachers and all the Elwood College staff last year was phenomenal. I’m sure that without their constant willingness to endure the never-ending stream of questions I couldn’t have done as well as I did. Over my time at Elwood, there’s always been an unwavering support system behind me. I’m so proud of our whole cohort for coming together so well in the last push.
