Elwood College congratulates Zoe Eyles with an ATAR of 97.95
Zoe was the 2018 joint Valedictorian and Editor of the student newspaper she started in 2018. This year, Zoe will undertake a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne.
With VCE subject awards in 2018 in French, Legal Studies, Literature and Mathematical Methods, she has been a student of excellence at Elwood College since Year 7. In addition, she was the recipient of the highly prestigious Australian Defence Force ‘Long Tan Award’, for leadership within the school community and beyond. Zoe has ridden on many Great Victorian Bike Rides with the school including in her final year.
Zoe was also awarded the VCE Baccalaureate for achieving a study score over 30 in English and Literature, studying Mathematical Methods and an additional language; French.
In her Valedictorian speech, she noted the “beautiful camaraderie” amongst the Class of 2018, describing the group as “a bunch of great people… …kind, intelligent, fun-loving and engaged”. She praised the teachers for going “above and beyond the call of duty”, and reminded all students that “no matter how our exams go, no matter what scores we receive… …the most important thing will always be to be our best selves”.
