The Learning Journey

Our commitment is to empower every student to enjoy learning and strive for their personal best. Our curriculum is designed to develop the academic and life skills that will support students throughout their schooling and beyond. E-learning underpins the entire curriculum, giving students an essential confidence with technology.

Our talented teachers are dedicated to helping each student explore their talents and experience learning success. Personalised learning is central to Elwood College’s approach at every year level, with students receiving a level of individual attention that is impossible in larger schools. Our community tells us this is a special and highly valued aspect of the Elwood College education. Whether students need acceleration or extra support, challenges and opportunites are quickly identified.

Our college is grouped into three learning communities: Junior School (Years 7 and 8), Middle School (9 and 10) and Senior School (VCE; Years 11 and 12). Each learning community has dedicated leading teachers who encourage students to form positive, productive, working relationships and develop a sense of belonging at school.

For the VCE years, our comprehensive range of academic, arts and vocational studies allows students to create a study plan that complements their individual skills and aspirations. Through extensive career counselling and mentoring in Year 10, each student starts the VCE with a career pathway and clear goals in mind. Our VCE Centre provides an environment for students to focus and work hard while enjoying their final years at school.
