Olivia McIvor 2014

ATAR 86.9

2015, for me, will be the first year of an undergraduate arts course at Monash University. I will be studying French, Religion, Art History and Journalism. At this point, I am considering steering myself into a career as a music journalist... perhaps in France, but it's too soon to say.

Waiting patiently for VCE results was a stomach-churning melange of dread, anxiety and excitement. When I recieved my ATAR, I felt a surge of relief as my score assured my first preference for university and entirely reflected my efforts through the year.

Elwood prepared me for life through its realistic and community-centred approach to schooling. My years at Elwood focused not solely on academic endeavours but allowed us to explore and expand on social skills through copious programs and unique opportunities. In particular, the 2011 Study Tour to France which was spearheaded by Mr Pritchard; a priceless experience that gave me three memorable weeks and many new friends. I look back on Elwood as a fun and inclusive place that set me up for the real world both academically and socially.
